Role Description
The Estimator/Project Manager is a full-time hybrid role based in Watford, with some flexibility to work from home. This role is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for commercial electrical and sports lighting projects, reviewing drawings and specifications, and liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations. The Estimator/Project Manager will manage projects from inception to completion, including planning resources, monitoring budgets, overseeing timelines, and coordinating with site teams to ensure safe and compliant delivery. Day-to-day tasks include communicating with clients and stakeholders, producing project documentation, tracking variations, and updating forecasts to maintain profitability and quality standards. The role also involves supporting bid submissions, contributing to process improvements, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Construction Estimating and Project Estimation for commercial electrical and lighting projects.
- Candidates should possess skills in Cost Management and Budgeting to control project finances and support accurate forecasting.
- Candidates should possess excellent Communication skills to collaborate with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Relevant experience in electrical contracting, sports lighting, or commercial construction project management is beneficial.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects.
- Proficiency with estimating and project management software, and solid MS Office skills (especially Excel).
- Formal qualifications in electrical engineering, construction management, or a related discipline are advantageous.
- Understanding of UK construction regulations, health and safety standards, and industry best practices is preferred.
