Job Title: Children’s Home Deputy Manager

Salary: £16.00 – £17.00 per hour

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a welcoming children’s residential home in Newcastle, supporting young people aged 11 to 18 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Learning Disabilities (LD). The home provides a safe, nurturing environment where young people are encouraged to develop independence, build confidence and reach their full potential through consistent, therapeutic support.
The home is looking to appoint a Children’s Home Deputy Manager on a full-time, long-term basis, with the opportunity to secure a permanent position for the right candidate. The successful Children’s Home Deputy Manager will support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the home, lead and mentor the care team, ensure compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations, and promote outstanding outcomes for every young person in the service.
Qualifications
- Level 3 or Level 4 qualification in Children and Young People or Residential Care (essential)
- Previous experience working within a children’s residential home in a senior or leadership role
- Experience supporting young people with SEMH and Learning Disabilities (LD)
- A strong understanding of safeguarding, children’s legislation and Ofsted standards
- Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills
- A positive, resilient and child-centred approach
