Overview
Business Support Officer (Permanent, 35 hours, term‑time plus 2 weeks) – Ealing Council invites applications for a Business Support Officer to join the Ealing Education Centre (EEC) based in Greenford, UB6.
The role is full‑time permanent, working on a term‑time basis, plus an additional two weeks during school holiday periods. It is fully office‑based and offers an excellent work‑life balance within a friendly and supportive team.
Key Responsibilities
- A welcoming and professional front‑of‑house service to visitors, delegates and customers.
- Manage enquiries by telephone, email and in person, ensuring excellent customer care.
- Support the administration and delivery of training programmes, conferences, meetings and events.
- Use online systems to manage training, venue bookings, enrolments, communications and event information.
- Coordinate administrative support for allocated training programmes and projects.
- Support financial processes including purchase orders, invoicing, payments and budget monitoring.
- Assist with the marketing and promotion of training, events and services.
- Maintain accurate records, databases and filing systems, ensuring information is up to date and easily accessible.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, schools, training providers and stakeholders to support the delivery of high‑quality services.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Experience of providing high‑quality administrative and customer support in a busy office or similar environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of customers and colleagues.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing tasks and manage a varied workload.
- Experience of using online business systems and databases.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate work.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A proactive, adaptable and flexible approach to work.
- A reliable, professional and punctual approach, with a willingness to learn new skills and contribute to service improvements.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- A good standard of general education, including GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent), with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Good ICT skills, including experience of Microsoft Office applications.
