Senior/Lead Assembly and Test Specialist – Energetic Devices Production Engineering
Teledyne Technologies provides enabling technologies for industrial growth markets such as aerospace and defense, factory automation, environmental monitoring, electronics development, oceanographic research, energy, medical imaging, and pharmaceutical research. We are seeking a senior specialist to lead a small sub‑team in the handling, assembly and testing of safety‑critical energetic devices including detonators, strip line cables and safety arming units.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a small sub‑team, prioritise, plan and schedule tasks within the sub‑team.
- Maintain a strong safety‑first culture; follow and enforce safety procedures, safe systems of work and PPE requirements.
- Build products to engineering drawings, specifications and quality standards; follow detailed assembly and test instructions accurately.
- Carry out automated testing using computer‑assisted test equipment and record completion of operations using production and test software.
- Escalate issues affecting build quality, safety or delivery; support safe, efficient production processes.
- Work with production and engineering teams to resolve issues and maintain traceability and accurate build/test documentation.
- Support achievement of production output and quality targets; contribute to effective team communication.
Skills & Experience
- Eligible to undergo UK Government Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance.
- Experience leading a small team of assembly and test operators.
- Experience working within cross‑functional teams.
- Experience in production scheduling, planning and task assignment.
- Experience carrying out close‑tolerance or precision assembly work.
- Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail.
- Good working knowledge of MS Office based applications.
- Experience using customer‑owned online reporting systems.
- Experience writing technical reports and presentations.
- Flexible, hardworking, and positive team attitude.
- Desirable: Experience in electronic or electro‑mechanical assembly; familiarity with automated test equipment; exposure to safety‑critical products; experience with manufacturing quality systems.
Training & Development
Full training will be provided on equipment, processes and quality standards, with opportunities for development into more advanced technical roles.
