Responsibilities
- Drive and lead projects commercially to ensure they are procured, delivered within budget and to the highest quality
- Formulate commercial strategies in connection with conflict avoidance, conflict management and dispute resolution
- Ensure compliance of all contractual activities on the project
- Develop and manage the issue of accurate, timely and compliant notices and correspondence
- Monitor and report on all commercial aspects of projects, proposing mitigation actions for any issues
- Manage the assessment and valuation of contractor applications and payment certifications
- Provide advice on change management and produce documentation for approval
- Ensure proper retention and archiving of commercial records and undertake final account settlements
Requirements
- Significant post-graduate commercial experience in the construction industry with demonstrable track record of achievement
- Demonstrable commercial and contract management experience (pre and post contract essential)
- Practical approach, logical thought process and a methodical way of working
- A creative and innovative approach to problem-solving
- Extensive experience of setting up and/or operating office management systems including filing systems and document control and distribution
- Extensive experience of drafting effective contractual correspondence and the facilitation of collaborative solutions
- Experience of developing & implementing procurement and contract strategies
- Proven negotiating and team-working skills with the ability to motivate and lead a team
- Strong analytical skills
- Demonstrable legal, contractual and construction knowledge
- Experience in implementing and delivering strategic objectives and associated change programmes
- Confidence and ability to assert influence
- Holds an RICS / CICES accredited degree
- Full Membership of RICS or CICES
