Day Shift Senior Care Assistant – Parklands Care Home

We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Day Shift Senior Care Assistant to join our team and help lead the delivery of high‑quality, person‑centred care.
As a Senior Care Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting residents’ wellbeing while providing guidance and encouragement to colleagues. Combining hands‑on care with leadership responsibilities, you will help ensure residents receive outstanding support and that high standards are maintained throughout the home.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, support and guidance to Care Assistants during day shifts.
- Deliver and oversee high‑quality, person‑centred care in accordance with residents’ individual needs and preferences.
- Promote dignity, independence, privacy and choice in all aspects of care delivery.
- Support residents with daily living activities while encouraging wellbeing and quality of life.
- Monitor residents’ wellbeing and Escalate concerns appropriately.
- Assist with the implementation and review of care plans and risk assessments.
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date care records and documentation.
- Support effective communication between residents, families, colleagues and healthcare professionals.
- Assist with shift coordination and ensure daily tasks are completed effectively.
- Support the induction, mentoring and development of new team members.
- Promote compliance with safeguarding, health and safety, infection prevention and control, and company policies.
- Participate in audits, quality monitoring activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to maintaining a safe, welcoming and well‑managed environment throughout the home.
- Act as a positive role model, promoting professionalism, teamwork and high standards of care.
- Uphold the values and reputation of Parklands Care Home and Sandstone Care Group at all times.
- Undertake any other duties reasonably required to support the effective operation of the home.
Experience
- Previous experience in a senior care role within a residential or nursing home.
- NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or willingness to work towards).
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- A compassionate and professional approach to care.
- Flexibility to work on a rolling rota including alternate weekend working.

*Overtime is paid for working over full‑time hours. However, overtime enhancement will not feature on your contract of employment and can be withdrawn at any time as managers decision is final.
