Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Machinist role located in Mere. The CNC Machinist will set up, operate, and monitor CNC machines to produce high-precision components according to engineering drawings and specifications. Daily responsibilities include selecting appropriate tools and materials, adjusting machine settings, performing routine maintenance checks, and ensuring safe operation of all equipment. The role involves inspecting finished parts, verifying measurements, and maintaining documentation to meet quality standards and production targets. The CNC Machinist will collaborate with engineering and production teams to troubleshoot issues, optimize machining processes, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Machine Operation and Machinery handling, with experience operating CNC equipment safely and efficiently.
- Proficiency in Machining processes, including reading technical drawings and using precision measuring tools.
- Demonstrated ability in Quality Control, ensuring components meet required tolerances and standards.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment, ideally in CNC machining.
- Good understanding of shop safety practices and adherence to health and safety regulations.
- Ability to work accurately, maintain attention to detail, and meet production deadlines.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Relevant vocational training or apprenticeship in machining, engineering, or a related field is beneficial.
