CONTRACT MAINTENANCE WELDER / FABRICATOR – DAYS

Wagstaff Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Welder / Fabricator to join a busy heavy plant environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on engineer looking for a practical maintenance role where your skills will have an immediate impact.

Pay Rate: £35 per hour for all hours worked via our accredited payroll partner

Shift Pattern

• Monday – Thursday: 08:00 – 16:00
• Friday – 06:00 – 16:00

The Role – Maintenance Welder / Fabricator

You will be responsible for maintaining and repairing heavy industrial equipment, ensuring safe operation, reliability, and reduced downtime.

Key duties include:

• Carry out MIG and stick welding, fabrication, and mechanical repairs
• Complete planned, reactive, and emergency maintenance activities
• Repair and maintain equipment including chutes, hoppers, guards, platforms, moulds, mixers, conveyors, and plant structures
• Support improvements to equipment life and reliability within a high-abrasion environment
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and weld symbols
• Complete fabrication, fitting, and structural repair work to a high standard
• Maintain accurate records of repairs and modifications
• Work closely with maintenance and production teams to prioritise tasks
• Follow strict safety procedures including LOTO/LOTOTO, hot-work permits, confined space requirements, and PPE standards
