Band 5 student midwife post. You will be a registered nurse with the NMC and will undertake the Shortened Midwifery Programme at Middlesex University. Start date 14th September 2026, ending on the 14th May 2028. Your placement site is Royal Free Hospital. Main duties of the job
The 20 month BSc (Hons) Midwifery Shortened Programme at Middlesex University aims to produce competent, caring, research and evidence-based midwives, capable of delivering effective woman‑centred care for mothers and their families within these contexts.
Midwives of the 21st century practice within dynamic, rapidly changing and diverse contexts and require personal, academic and professional skills to practice in an optimum way.
During the 20 month course, time will be split between Middlesex University and Royal Free London NHS Trust, Royal Free Hospital site.
On starting the course you will have:o Diploma in Adult Nursing
Adult nurse NMC registrationProven post registration experienceHold a Diploma in Higher Education or Degree or accreditation using AP (E) L.
Students applying for this post must have IELTS 7.0 and maths and English or equivalents and be a qualified nurse for one year registered with the NMC.

Education/ Qualifications
- Diploma/Degree in Adult Nursing
- Minimum of 5 GCSEs includes English and maths or ILETS 7.0
- Completion of a Research Awareness course

Experience

- Can demonstrate an understanding of inter‑agency working i.e. Child Protection and Domestic Violence.
- Has knowledge of Trust’s Policies and Procedures

- Is willing to work in all areas
- Is in good general health and fit for the post as assessed by Occupational Health.
- Is able to undertake all duties of a midwifery student in the hospital and community setting.
- Satisfactory CRB check
