Overview

By the Bridge is looking for a dedicated, proactive and forward thinking Supervising Social Worker to join our team. You will be part of the West Midlands team, offering direct support to our families with a caseload of 6-7 families. Team meetings take place once a month at the registrations Tamworth office (B79 0LH).

Ideally, this role will be located around the Coventry area, as the caseload will cover Coventry, Warwickshire and Northampton with flexibility to support East and West Midlands. Duty is one day a week office based either at Thorpe Estate (Tamworth) or Pinewood Business Park (Marston Green, Birmingham). There are no set duty responsibilities for this post; however, at times there will be a need for flexibility to support the team. There is no Out of Hours responsibility.

Salary up to £40,000 plus car allowance (depending on experience).

You will have support from the therapy team who will offer reflective supervision and support from our Education Advisors (EAGALs) who build upon the therapeutic parenting work being carried out by our foster parents.

Hybrid working with 1-2 days per week in office (Marston Green or Tamworth depending on location).

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support to foster families and children’s social workers; build positive relationships with foster parents and social workers.
  • Manage a caseload of 6-7 families within the West Midlands region, with potential coverage for Coventry, Warwickshire and Northamptonshire.
  • Attend monthly team meetings and contribute to team planning and case discussions.
  • Collaborate with the therapy team for reflective supervision and integrate input from Education Advisors to support therapeutic parenting work.
  • Be flexible to support the team as needed; note that there are no out-of-hours responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • The desire to be a team player who aims to achieve the best possible outcomes for children and foster carers
  • Experience of working in the fostering sector and/or with children/young people in social care
  • Hold a formal social work qualification
  • Be registered as a social worker with Social Work England
  • Have a valid driving license
  • The right to work in the UK
