Our client is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children Social Worker to manage a complex caseload of vulnerable children and young people, assessing risks and delivering interventions that ensure their safety and well-being. This role is based in Trafford and is offered by Oldham Council (Grade 8).
Job Summary
- Organization: Oldham Council (Grade 8)
- Reporting To: Team Manager / Senior Practitioner
- Core Purpose: Manage a complex caseload of vulnerable children and young people, assessing risks and delivering interventions that ensure their safety and well-being.
- Pay rate: £37,280 – £42,839
- Location: Trafford
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct risk and needs assessments to co-produce actionable, whole-family care plans.
- Intervene directly to protect children at risk, manage electronic case files, and write professional reports for decision‑making forums.
- Collaborate with schools, police, and health partners, while providing guidance to less experienced staff and students.
Requirements
- Degree in Social Work, active Social Work England registration, and completed ASYE.
- Proven track record of managing complex child protection cases and conducting detailed risk assessments.
- Strong crisis‑resolution skills, sound analytical judgement, and IT proficiency.
- Enhanced DBS check, valid driver’s licence (or independent mobility), and flexibility for occasional unsocial hours.
