Job Summary

Pertain to a 12‑month time‑limited role within the Adult Social Care team in the Performance Research & Intelligence service (PRI) in Manchester. The role supports the People team and reports to the Senior Data Officer.

Working hours: 35 hours per week. Contract type: 12 months, time‑limited. Working style: Hybrid (remote and on‑site). Closing date: 11:59pm, 29 July 2026. Interview method: in person.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop high‑quality reports using SAP BusinessObjects, Microsoft Fabric and Power BI.
  • Use SQL to extract data from a Data Warehouse.
  • Present information in an organised and understandable manner to support stakeholders’ operational and strategic decisions.
  • Interpret business requirements to produce reports or datasets within agreed deadlines and specifications.
  • Work closely with stakeholders and external partners to plan work and upgrades of a Data Warehouse.
  • Manage data pipelines that extract, transform and load data into a Data Warehouse.
  • Manage submission of statutory data returns to central government on behalf of Adult Social Care.
  • Configure databases to meet statutory return specifications.

What We’re Looking For

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, able to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
  • High motivation, enthusiasm and assertiveness, demonstrating the Our Manchester behaviours.
  • Strong ICT and data technical skills – SQL queries, data marts and data formatting.
  • Experience developing performance and dashboard reports using Business Objects, PowerBI, Tableau or similar.
  • Ability to nurture strong relationships with team members, stakeholders and external partners.
  • Interest in innovation and technology and willingness to learn new skills.
  • Sound professional judgment and ability to handle competing priorities while maintaining Data Protection and information security guidelines.
  • Experience working with service‑delivery teams and understanding how data supports services.

Eligibility & Checks

  • Applicants must have the right to work in the UK; visa sponsorship is not available.
  • Legal right to work required before commencement.
  • Standard DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance required.
