The Role
The Customer Host will work as part of a team responsible for the day‑to‑day delivery of a high standard onboard catering service to passengers.
Role Responsibilities
- Offer passengers the onboard trolley service throughout the journey, complying with health and safety protocols at all times to meet customer needs and ensure a high‑quality customer service.
- Be responsible for onboard trolley stock by checking that the trolley has enough supply for serving customers before the train departs to ensure we can provide the onboard service.
- Be responsible for maintaining the trolley by keeping it clean, well‑equipped with an up‑to‑date price list and reporting any condition issues to the Depot Manager to enable us to provide the onboard service.
- Comply with health and safety policies and procedures, safety protocols and briefs by adhering to relevant regulations including COSHH assessments and food hygiene standards to ensure we provide a safe and hygienic onboard service.
Who We’re Looking For
- Previous experience of working in a customer‑focused role.
- Ability to upsell and promote products to the general public.
- Flexible and available to work the shifts required – we run a 7‑day operation and work 5 shifts over the 7 days.
Welsh Language Skills
While not essential for this role, Welsh language skills would make a great addition to your application. TfW supports anyone who wants to learn Welsh or improve their skills, offering online learning, classroom courses and funding attendance at local community courses.
