Sacro’s mission is to deliver life-changing services that empower people, give hope and protection, and help to build safe communities. The Sacro Edinburgh Travel Service facilitates visits of prisoners by their families and friends, enabling relationships to be maintained during a sentence. The service provides regular transport to many of Scotland’s prisons and to the State Hospital at Carstairs, and is part of Sacro’s Throughcare Service, which research shows helps reduce reoffending.

- Are you able to commit to at least one journey each month?
Responsibilities
- Pick up registered passengers from their home address and transport them to their scheduled visit, and return them home.
- Ensure punctuality, good organisation and a friendly, respectful, non-judgemental attitude, and maintain confidentiality.
Qualifications
- Full, clean UK driving licence and insurance.
- Own vehicle with a current MOT and regularly serviced.
- Membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme (PVG).
Commitment
Volunteer for at least one year and be regularly available.
