We’re currently recruiting for a PA to the Senior Leadership Team / Cover Manager to join one of our partner secondary schools in the Peak District on a full-time basis, starting ASAP.
This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and proactive individual to become a key member of the school’s support staff team. Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team, you’ll provide high-quality PA support while managing the day‑to‑day cover arrangements across the school. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, has excellent organisational skills, and can manage multiple priorities while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
Your main responsibilities will include
- Providing comprehensive PA support to members of the Senior Leadership Team.
- Managing diaries, meetings, correspondence, and confidential documentation.
- Coordinating the daily cover rota and arranging appropriate cover for staff absences.
- Liaising with supply agencies and internal staff to secure suitable classroom cover.
- Maintaining accurate staff absence and cover records.
- Welcoming and coordinating supply staff, ensuring they have the information required for the school day.
- Acting as a key point of contact for staff, visitors, parents, and external agencies.
- Supporting the wider administration team to ensure the smooth day‑to‑day running of the school.
Requirements or Skills
- Previous experience as a PA, Executive Assistant, Cover Manager, or in a senior administrative role.
- Excellent organisational and time‑management skills with the ability to prioritise a busy workload.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A professional, confidential, and proactive approach.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Experience using school management systems such as SIMS, Arbor, or Bromcom is desirable.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one through Milk Education).

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience, and the requirements of the assignment.
