As a Positive Behavioural Support (PBS) practitioner, you will help children and young people with learning disabilities, autism and sometimes other support needs to transform their lives. We are looking for someone to join our team working across the Wakefield and Leeds area.

Location & Compensation

Location: Wakefield and Leeds

Salary: £26,363.57 plus mileage (pro rata FTC)

Hours per week: 37.5 hours, including travel time.

Requirements

Must hold a full UK manual driving licence and have access to a vehicle with a willingness to travel. Previous experience working with children and young people with learning disabilities and autism is required.

Sponsorship is not available for this position.

Responsibilities

You will work with children and young people who may not be accessing education and may be at significant risk of entering specialist residential care. Your work will help them transform their lives by applying appropriate positive behaviour support techniques. You will understand the lived experience of each young person, support families, carers and other professionals, and facilitate strategies that enable young people to stay in their current placements, access their communities and build tools for independent living.

You will receive regular clinical supervision from experienced professionals to ensure you feel confident and supported in your role.

Application Details

Our contract covers maternity leave for 9 months, with the potential for extension. Interviews will be held in person on August 14th 2026 in Wakefield.
