You do not need specific skills and experience, but the following would be useful:
- Willingness to learn new skills
- Happy to work as part of a team and under own initiative
- An interest in retail and customer service and up for trying a range of shop tasks
- Ability to work with MYMY’s policies and shop guidelines
We would be keen to hear from anyone with experience in online selling.
As a volunteer sales assistant you will develop skills that will boost your confidence:
- Improve your language and communication skills in this customer facing role
- Grow your confidence and meet new people
- Boost your CV by learning transferable skills
- Possible references for future employers
We can be flexible around your education, family, work or health etc.
Tasks and responsibilities
- Received donations from the public and ensure they are stored safely
- Serve customers on the till and handle cash and card payments
- Sort, steam and price donated clothes, books, homewares according to policy
- Be a friendly face on the shop floor and provide excellent customer service
- Create a friendly shop environment to make everyone feel welcome
- Create attractive displays across the shop
- Keep the shop clean and tidy
