We are seeking a caring and enthusiastic Nursery Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the LS11 area of Leeds from September 2026. This full-time role offers ongoing work and a competitive daily rate of £95–£105, depending on experience. The successful candidate will support children within a Nursery setting, helping them develop key early years skills through play‑based learning and structured daily routines.
The school is a friendly and inclusive primary setting with a strong focus on early years development and creating a positive start to education. Staff work collaboratively to provide a nurturing and engaging environment where children are encouraged to explore, communicate, and build confidence.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Nursery pupils with play‑based learning, early communication, and social development.
- Assist the class teacher with preparing engaging activities and maintaining a positive learning environment.
- Encourage independence, confidence, and positive behaviour in young learners.
- Support daily routines, transitions, and pupils’ emotional wellbeing.
Pre‑requisites
- Experience working with early years or Nursery‑aged children.
- A patient, caring, and enthusiastic approach to supporting young learners.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Understanding of early years development and the EYFS framework.
