Refrigeration Engineer
Salary: 50,784.36 Basic + Standby Payments + Overtime + Bonus Opportunities
We are currently recruiting for a Refrigeration Engineer to join a leading facilities and refrigeration maintenance provider, working across a prestigious retail contract.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Refrigeration Engineer seeking a stable role with strong earning potential through standby payments, overtime, and additional performance incentives.
The Role
As a Refrigeration Engineer, you will be responsible for:
Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs on commercial refrigeration equipment
Diagnosing and repairing faults on refrigeration systems, cold rooms, integral cabinets, and associated plant
Ensuring all work is completed in line with F-Gas regulations and health & safety standards
Responding to breakdowns and emergency call-outs when required
Maintaining accurate service records and reports
Building strong working relationships with site teams and customers
Participating in the on-call rota
Requirements
NVQ Level 2/3 in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning or equivalent
Valid F-Gas Category 1 Certification
Proven experience working on commercial refrigeration systems
Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
Experience within retail, supermarket, or commercial environments desirable
Full UK Driving Licence
Package & Benefits
Basic Salary
50,784.36 per annum
Based on a 45-hour working week
Standby Allowance
1 in 4 on-call rota
195 per standby week
Overtime paid where applicable
Additional On-Call Cover
Engineers who provide additional weekend on-call cover will receive:
150 per individual weekend day covered
Overtime paid at standard rates for any call-outs attended
Additional Performance Incentive
Work 6 additional days beyond the standard 13 weekend on-call requirement and receive a 500 customer bonus.
