Your new company A leading Construction Company is seeking an experienced Site Supervisor / Team Leader to join their team at HMP Manchester. Working within a secure custodial environment, you’ll be responsible for coordinating small works, maintenance, reactive & planned activities across the prison estate and ensuring essential works remain operational.
Your new role This is a hands-on supervisory position leading a team of skilled tradespeople including joiners, plumbers, electricians and specialist subcontractors.
No two days are the same. One minute you could be responding to a blocked toilet in a residential wing, the next coordinating emergency electrical repairs or overseeing planned maintenance works. You’ll assess defects, allocate the appropriate labour, monitor works through to completion and sign off jobs before handing them back to the client.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing a team of directly employed trades and subcontractorsCoordinating reactive and planned maintenance worksAssessing maintenance issues and prioritising workloadsEnsuring works are completed safely and compliantlyLiaising with prison staff and site managementMonitoring quality, productivity and service deliveryManaging job records, permits and compliance documentationCarrying out inspections and signing off completed worksHanding completed jobs back to the client
What you’ll need to succeed Previous experience as a Site Supervisor, Team Leader, Maintenance Supervisor.Experience managing multi-trade teams including joiners, plumbers and electriciansStrong construction trade backgroundExcellent organisational and communication skillsAbility to make decisions and manage workloads in a fast-paced environmentHealth & Safety awareness and a compliance-focused approachEL2 Clearance (essential)CTC Clearance (essential)
