Quantity Surveyor | Exeter | Temp-to-PermLocation: ExeterJob Type: Temp-to-PermSector: Construction / InfrastructureWe’re recruiting on behalf of a well-established contractor for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team based in Exeter.This is an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor from any construction or infrastructure background looking to join a business with a strong pipeline of work and the opportunity to secure a permanent position.The RoleAs Quantity Surveyor, you’ll support the commercial delivery of a range of projects, ensuring costs are effectively managed while maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and the wider project team.This role offers exposure to a variety of projects and would suit someone looking to develop their career within a supportive and growing organisation.Key Responsibilities
- Manage project costs from inception through to final account.
- Prepare and submit valuations, applications and variations.
- Procure and manage subcontractor packages.
- Review and negotiate subcontractor accounts.
- Monitor project budgets and produce cost reports.
- Identify commercial risks and opportunities.
- Support contract administration and ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
- Work closely with operational teams to ensure projects are delivered profitably.
About YouWe’re looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a strong commercial mindset.Ideally you’ll have:
- Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Assistant Quantity Surveyor.
- Experience within construction, infrastructure, utilities, civil engineering, fit-out, M&E or a related sector.
- Good understanding of standard forms of contract (NEC, JCT or similar).
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and commercial reporting.
- Full UK driving licence.
