Mechanical Assembler – Finish at 3:30pm Every Friday? No – Every Day!

Location: Ipswich, SuffolkHours: Monday to Friday, 07:00-15:30 (40 hours per week) – Enjoy your afternoons with an early 3:30pm finish every day!Pay: 15.00-16.00 per hour (Weekly Pay) Contract: Permanent (following a successful 3-month probation)

Are you an experienced Mechanical Fitter or Mechanical Assembler looking for a company where you’re more than just a number?

We’re recruiting on behalf of a well-established, family-run engineering business in Ipswich that has been manufacturing high-quality equipment for almost 40 years. Whether you’re already experienced with hydraulic systems or have a strong mechanical assembly background and want to develop your skills further, this could be the perfect next step.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Assembling hydraulic equipment and mechanical components
  • Cleaning and preparing parts before assembly
  • Testing finished products to ensure they meet quality standards
  • Reading and interpreting engineering (CAD) drawings
  • Building heavy plant equipment used within the construction industry
  • Supporting other areas of the workshop when required

What we’re looking for:

  • Previous experience in mechanical fitting or mechanical assembly
  • A good understanding of hydraulic systems (preferred but not essential)
  • Ability to confidently read engineering drawings
  • Pride in producing high-quality work with excellent attention to detail
  • A positive, flexible attitude and willingness to support the wider team
