We are working with a well-established construction and fit-out contractor delivering high-quality projects across the UK and Ireland.

The business specialises in creating exceptional commercial spaces, including office refurbishments, high-end showrooms, retail environments and public-sector projects. Due to continued growth, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Estimating Manager to lead the estimating function and support the delivery of high-value projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage and develop the estimating team
  • Agree bid strategies with the senior management team
  • Oversee the preparation of accurate and competitive tenders
  • Develop and manage bid programmes
  • Chair internal and external tender progress meetings
  • Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities
  • Review contract and tender documentation
  • Work closely with commercial and operational teams
  • Monitor market trends, subcontractor pricing and supply-chain costs
  • Manage tenders from initial enquiry through to award and handover
  • Support business development activity with new and existing clients
  • Ensure submissions meet client expectations and commercial objectives

Skills and Experience

  • Relevant qualification in Estimating, Quantity Surveying or Construction
  • Proven estimating experience within fit-out and refurbishment
  • Experience managing projects valued up to approximately 30 million
  • Strong knowledge of estimating software
  • Previous experience leading and developing an estimating team
  • Understanding of single-stage, two-stage and negotiated tenders
  • Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities
  • Flexible, organised and team-focused approach

Membership of RICS, CIOB or ACostE would be advantageous but is not essential.
