Overview
We are seeking to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic individual to lead digital knowledge and decision support delivery, strategic and operational planning and management to develop the Right Decision Service (RDS) platform. (Overview of RDS services)
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a programme of digital development and quality assurance, knowledge mobilisation and implementation support to embed RDS decision support in frontline practice and policy.
- Manage and develop a team of three health information scientists (1wte, 0.6wte, 0.5wte) to deliver and implement RDS tools for maximum impact across Scotland’s health and care.
- Engage and outreach with a wide range of clinical, social care and policy stakeholders.
- Manage a programme of digital delivery, evaluate and promote the benefits of digital decision support.
- Perform quality assurance including obtaining and maintaining UK CA marking status where required.
- Design and deploy knowledge mobilisation methods to facilitate adoption and spread of RDS services.
Qualifications
- Postgraduate Masters qualification or equivalent experience in a library, information or knowledge management‑related discipline.
- Sound digital information skills and experience.
- Track record in provision of health information and working with senior healthcare professionals.
- Strong skills in sourcing and summarising evidence and in stakeholder communication and engagement, including communication of complex information.
- Creativity and innovation in identifying new approaches to getting evidence into practice.
- Effective team worker with ability to collaborate with colleagues internally and externally.
About the Directorate
Healthcare Improvement Scotland’s Evidence and Digital Directorate is a complex and wide‑ranging directorate which develops and disseminates evidence‑based advice for NHSScotland, such as clinical guidelines, health technology assessments and clinical standards, and also provides evidence development, research, health economics, knowledge and decision support for the other functions of the organisation and for external partners.
