Hardware Team Lead
£87.83 per hour (Inside IR35) – Negotiable
12 months
On site: Monday to Thursday – Rochester (Kent)
Responsibilities
- Provide managerial and technical leadership of an electronics design team for production programs across products such as Helmet Mounted & Head-Up Displays, Mission Computers, Flight Controls, Active Inceptors and other associated safety-critical technology.
- Manage work packages including cost, schedule, risk and opportunities.
- Ensure the engineering team supports production program demand.
- Provide technical governance and ensure adherence to company processes.
- Lead cost and performance trade-offs.
Essential Skills
- Demonstrate high performance and achievement in leadership and management of engineering teams through a full product development lifecycle.
- Proven experience with cost and planning management tools; ability to optimise solutions and minimise impacts from dependencies; product design and work package control.
- Experience in design improvements to working practices and team skill development, with focus on root cause analysis and targets for improvement, including failure reduction and MDBF.
Desirable:
- Experience with Safety Critical Systems and requirements management tools such as DOORS, or work-package management tools such as MSP or JIRA.
