Hardware Team Lead

£87.83 per hour (Inside IR35) – Negotiable

12 months

On site: Monday to Thursday – Rochester (Kent)

Responsibilities

• Provide managerial and technical leadership of an electronics design team for production programs across products such as Helmet Mounted & Head-Up Displays, Mission Computers, Flight Controls, Active Inceptors and other associated safety-critical technology.
• Manage work packages including cost, schedule, risk and opportunities.
• Ensure the engineering team supports production program demand.
• Provide technical governance and ensure adherence to company processes.
• Lead cost and performance trade-offs.

Essential Skills

• Demonstrate high performance and achievement in leadership and management of engineering teams through a full product development lifecycle.
• Proven experience with cost and planning management tools; ability to optimise solutions and minimise impacts from dependencies; product design and work package control.
• Experience in design improvements to working practices and team skill development, with focus on root cause analysis and targets for improvement, including failure reduction and MDBF.

Desirable:

• Experience with Safety Critical Systems and requirements management tools such as DOORS, or work-package management tools such as MSP or JIRA.
