Senior Mechanical Engineer in Manchester

Overview

Senior Mechanical Engineer — Water Sector. The role involves delivering a wide range of projects across water sector assets, including upgrades to critical infrastructure such as water and wastewater treatment sites, pumping stations, and reservoirs within the North West during the AMP8 period.

Responsibilities

• Lead the interfaces and integration of the mechanical design with other disciplines.
• Management, review and preparation of mechanical design deliverables (calculations, drawings for plant general arrangements, documentation, schedules, specifications and design reports) to achieve the correct time/cost/quality balance for the project.
• Provide quality assurance of others’ work by undertaking check/review functions.
• Support the development of the mechanical engineering team, coaching and mentoring junior engineers to develop their skill set and identifying the correct resource for the projects.

Experience and Qualifications

• Significant experience in the Water Sector
• Degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
• Ideally Chartered Mechanical Engineer
• Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, practices, and standards relating to process industries
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
• Proven ability to manage multiple design tasks and meet deadlines
