Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – Wareham – Up to £60,000

Responsibilities
- Leading the design and development of mechanical systems for complex maritime applications
- Defining system architectures, selecting materials and components, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards
- Producing and reviewing CAD models, technical drawings, and design documentation
- Guiding integration, testing, and commissioning activities
- Mentoring junior engineers and supporting their development
- Collaborating with suppliers and customers to resolve technical challenges
Experience and qualifications
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
- Strong understanding of mechanical design, including stress, materials, and manufacturability
- Proficiency in CAD tools, Solid Edge preferred
- Experience designing for cost, reliability, and testability
- Knowledge of systems engineering principles within multidisciplinary environments
- Experience in the maritime or defence sector is a benefit, though not essential
- SC Clearance is required for this position.
