Overview
Hitachi Energy has an exciting opportunity to join our High Voltage business as a Field Service Engineer. You will contribute to the execution of the service strategy and service growth by delivering timely, high-quality, cost-effective service offerings, solutions, and engineering projects for customers. Execute service work in accordance with Hitachi Energy standard processes, quality standards, and safety guidelines. You will deliver quality customer service and identify new service opportunities for Hitachi Energy.

How you’ll make an impact
You’ll play a key role within a team of experienced engineers/technicians undertaking and coordinating on-site service activities, while ensuring health and safety, quality standards, schedules, and progress reporting to meet customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Perform high-voltage service activities, including installation and commissioning, refurbishments, device replacements, routine maintenance, inspections, and diagnostics to support recommendations.
- Coordinate all delivered parts, materials, and components for each project and optimize resource use to meet delivery and performance targets.
- Lead jobs from start to finish under the direction of the project manager to meet client requirements.
- Maintain project site documentation, checklists, reports, and assist in resolving on-site issues; provide feedback to identify and recommend effective new solutions.
- Apply all safety rules, follow safe practices, and consider environmental responsibilities; assess and mitigate hazards to ensure the safety of people and equipment.
Qualifications / Background
- Electrical engineering-related education or equivalent industry experience; experience in the High Voltage or power sector (installation/service/maintenance) or broad knowledge of power engineering plant and equipment; or trained electrician.
- Proven experience with mechanical installations, switchgear, cabling/wiring installation, oil handling/processing/sampling, device function checks, and power equipment testing instruments (e.g., Omicron, Megger).
- Experience leading a team or managing subcontractors; able to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings.
- Suitable qualifications such as IPAF, PASMA, CCNSG (training provided).
- Full driving licence.
