Location: Hertfordshire
Hours: Full Time – 42 hours a week – 7 on, 2 off, 7 on, 5 off
Pay: £15.01 per hour
Job Type: Permanent
About the Role
As a Security Officer you will be responsible for welcoming staff and visitors, creating a safe atmosphere, conducting patrols, monitoring premises, securing access points, responding promptly to alarms, writing reports, and assisting in emergencies. Work on a rotating schedule across sites.
- Welcoming staff and visitors and creating a safe, professional atmosphere
- Conducting regular patrols and monitoring premises to prevent unauthorised access, theft, or vandalism
- Monitoring access points, CCTV, and handling security procedures
- Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies and security incidents, taking appropriate action as needed
- Complete detailed reports on daily activities, incidents and any security concerns
- Assist in emergency situations, including evacuations and first‑aid support if required
- Adapting to different client sites – no two days are the same
- Respond calmly and confidently to incidents or concerns

What We Are Looking For
- To hold a current DS SIA Licence
- Proven experience in a security role or a similar position
- Strong observational skills to identify and respond to security threats
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm and act decisively in high‑pressure situations
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends and public holidays
