Overview
Claire House Children’s Hospice is seeking a warm, empathetic Counsellor to join the Family Wellbeing and Therapies Team. This is suitable for a newly qualified or early-career counsellor passionate about supporting children, young people, parents, carers and grandparents through challenging experiences. The role is based across services including Liverpool Day Therapy Unit and community settings, including family homes and schools. This is a permanent 30-hour position with opportunities to develop specialist skills.
Responsibilities
- Provide counselling and therapeutic support to children, parents, carers and grandparents receiving support from Claire House.
- Work across services (Liverpool Day Therapy Unit; community settings, including family homes and schools).
- Deliver bereavement support for children, parents, carers and wider family members.
- Offer therapeutic interventions across a range of emotional and psychological difficulties.
What we’re looking for
- A recognised counselling qualification
- Experience of providing therapeutic support across a range of emotional difficulties, including bereavement
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a small team
- Flexibility and adaptability
