Overview
HSE Engineer – Location: Eastbourne, East Sussex; Hours: 21 hours per week (ideally split across three days or as reasonably possible); Contract: Until December 2026, with potential for extension; Pay: £23 per hour.
Our client, based at Honeywell, is hiring a dedicated HSE Engineer to join their team on a temporary basis until the end of December 2026. This onsite role offers an opportunity to contribute to environmental, health, and safety initiatives within a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain company policies aligned with local, state, and federal environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Assist in designing and developing facilities, work areas, and procedures, providing environmental, health, and safety recommendations.
- Prepare, update, and maintain environmental policy and procedure manuals.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with all relevant regulations and stay informed of legislative changes.
- Act as the point of contact with regulatory bodies at all levels.
- Support general EHS tasks, including process and procedure writing and system management.
Qualifications
- Experience working with management systems such as ISO 14001, ISO 45001, or both.
- IOSH Managing Safely certification (minimum).
- Good PC skills and familiarity with manufacturing or similar industries.
- Ability to write and develop processes and procedures.
- A proactive approach with the ability to work under supervision.
- Ideally, 1-2 years in EHS or junior roles, with a keen interest in developing expertise in environmental and safety management.
