Overview
Kent County Council is looking for a Contracts Support Officer to join our Contracts and Commissioning Team within Highways and Transportation. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting the delivery and compliance of major highway contracts that help keep Kent’s roads safe and well maintained for residents, businesses, and visitors. This vacancy is for a full-time (37 hours a week), 12 month secondment (for internal KCC candidates) or a 12 month Fixed Term Contract for external candidates.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality administrative, project, and contract support to ensure Highway Maintenance and Professional Services contracts operate effectively and remain contractually compliant.
- Work closely with senior managers, project managers, contractors, and stakeholders across the organisation to monitor performance, coordinate contract activities, and support informed decision-making.
- Support contract management, performance monitoring, governance, and stakeholder engagement to develop expertise in these areas.
Eligibility and Requirements
The post is considered a customer-facing position. The Council has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
