Overview
At St John Ambulance, we are developing our volunteering offer to be an integral part of communities through delivering community first aid and education. We seek people who are passionate about helping others, care about their communities, and want to make a difference by sharing first aid skills and knowledge. As a Community First Aider, you’ll deliver first aid at local events and provide public education so the ripple effect of First Aid grows. Through supporting community partnerships, you will attract people to our cause, grow our membership and fundraising base, and spread the message that First Aid Saves Lives.
Responsibilities
- Deliver first aid to people in need at local events.
- Provide first aid education to the public to increase community resilience.
- Support the growth of community partnerships, membership and fundraising efforts.
- Promote awareness that First Aid Saves Lives through volunteering activities.
- Contribute to a supportive volunteering environment and uphold the volunteer charter.
Induction, Training and Support
- Access to a proper induction to volunteering with SJA and training for your role.
- A supportive environment while volunteering.
- Information about volunteer roles included in role descriptions.
- What we expect from volunteers and what SJA provides are included in the volunteer charter.
Events and Timelines
- Information events locally (dates, times and location to be advised).
- Volunteer selection session (date, time and location to be advised).
- Induction & training for the role on specified dates: Welcome Event (Induction) and role training (dates, times and location to be advised).
- Closing date for opportunities: 31/08/2026.
