Laser Cutter Operator

Overview

Laser Cutter Operator position in Birmingham. Permanent role, day shift with 11:30 finish on Fridays. Salary £30,000. Thriving manufacturing business with strong long-term prospects. We manufacture components and signage for aerospace, automotive, rail and industrial sectors. We are seeking a detail-oriented operator with experience in laser marking or cutting.

Duties

• Setting up and operating laser marking and laser cutting equipment.
• Loading and verifying programs, materials and job specifications.
• Producing components from engineering drawings, artwork and production instructions.
• Monitoring machine performance and making adjustments to ensure quality and efficiency.
• Conducting first-off and in-process inspections using measuring equipment.
• Performing quality checks to ensure products meet customer and company standards.
• Reading and interpreting technical drawings and production documentation.

Requirements

• Experience operating laser marking or laser cutting machinery.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Basic computer skills.
• Experience gained in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Experience producing components for aerospace, automotive or industrial sectors is desirable.
• Experience using measuring equipment including verniers, micrometers and gauges.
