Overview

Benarty View Care Home is situated in a small mining village Kelty and provides residential care for up to 40 residents.

Position

Activity coordinator role for Benarty View Care Home. Responsible for creating a vibrant and engaging environment where residents feel included, valued and excited about daily activities.

Contract and Compensation

  • £12.86 per hour
  • Contracted to 15 hours per week – includes weekends
  • Driving licence required
  • Paid PVG, pension and uniform provided
  • 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full-time contract)

Responsibilities

  • Organise group activities, celebrations and create one-to-one engagement
  • Encourage residents to continue enjoying hobbies and participate in social activities
  • Build strong relationships with residents by understanding individual personalities, preferences and interests
  • Foster a caring and engaging environment that supports wellbeing and quality of life
  • Collaborate with team members to plan and run activity programmes and events

  • A sociable, creative and naturally engaging personality
  • Strong organisational skills and confidence planning activity programmes
  • Genuine passion for working with older people and supporting wellbeing
  • Ability to build meaningful relationships and encourage participation
  • Confidence leading activities, events and group sessions
  • Good communication skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Previous experience in activities, events, hospitality, care or customer-facing roles is beneficial but not essential
