Job Role: Gatehouse Security Officer
Working Hours: 4 on 4 off shift pattern,with rotation between days (05:30–17:30) & nights (17:30–05:30) – average 42 hours per week
Pay: £13.42 per hour
Reporting to: Operations Manager
Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen at Anchor Group Servicesfor an experienced Gatehouse Security Officer to join our established securityteam based at Shotton Paper Mill in Deeside Industrial Park.
We are looking for professional and vigilant individuals whowill be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the gatehouse, controllingaccess to site, maintaining site security procedures, and acting as the firstpoint of contact for all visitors, contractors, and staff.
You will be required to deliver a high standard of customerservice, manage access control systems, ensure a secure and safe site, andremain alert at all times. The successful candidate must hold a valid SIALicence and a full UK Driving Licence.
Duties Include:
- Protectingthe client’s property, people and/or assets by providing security services indirect accordance with the sites published Assignment Instructions (AI’s) and site-specificprocedures
- Preventinglosses and damage by reporting irregularities; informing offenders of policyand procedures
- Controlling access to and from site via the gatehouse,including checking vehicles, visitors, and staff in line with site procedures
- Verifying identification and issuing passes to authorisedpersonnel, visitors, and contractors
- Acting as the main point of contact for all sitevisitors, providing a professional and welcoming service
- Maintaining accurate records of site access, vehicle logs, andvisitor documentation
- Operating gatehouse systems including barriers, CCTV, radios,and access control systems
- Preventingand escalating incidents in a timely and appropriate manner to theControl Room, Shift Manager, Operations Manager, or Emergency Services asappropriate
- Completingdetailed reports by recording observations, incidents, and daily activity logs
- Supporting wider security operations when required, includingperiodic patrols if necessary
- Maintaining the organisation’s reputation by complying withall legal, health & safety, and site-specific requirements
- Responding to queries and requests from staff, contractors,and visitors efficiently and professionally
- Maintaining a high standardof professionalism, vigilance, and customer focus at all times
Requirements
- Full 5-year employment checkable history – Essential
- Valid frontline SIA licence DS or SG – Essential
- Full UK Manual Driving Licence – Essential
- Customer Service experience and confidence to handle conflict in a correct manner
- Flexible to meet the job requirements
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Smart appearance and be well-groomed
- Reliable and punctual
- High level of enthusiasm and passion
- Ability to work in a fast-moving environment
