Mechanical Fitter

About this position:

We are seeking an experiencedMechanical Fitterto support the maintenance, repair, and installation of automated machinery within a busy automotive manufacturing environment. You’ll play a key role in keeping production equipment operating safely and efficiently.

Job Responsibilities:

• Carry out mechanical maintenance, repairs, and installations on production machinery.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical faults to minimise downtime.
• Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM).
• Replace and align mechanical components including bearings, gearboxes, motors, and conveyors.
• Support machinery upgrades and commissioning activities.
• Work safely in line with site procedures.

Experience Required:

• Mechanical fitting experience within automotive or manufacturing.
• Strong fault-finding skills on industrial machinery.
• Experience with conveyors, pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanical assemblies.
• Ability to read engineering drawings.
• Relevant mechanical qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent) preferred
