Role Summary

We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated Podiatrists to join our friendly and supportive Podiatry Service within the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. These opportunities are available across the Eastern locality. There are two posts available: 1 × hours per week Exeter‑based permanent post; 1 × hours per week Exeter‑based fixed term for months.

About the Role

We provide high‑quality, patient‑centred care across a variety of settings, including community clinics, acute outpatient departments, inpatient wards and patients’ own homes. The role involves the prevention and management of foot ulceration and amputation through evidence‑based assessment, treatment and patient education. Successful candidates will develop their knowledge and experience within the specialist diabetic foot service, working alongside experienced clinicians as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, diagnose, plan and manage patients presenting with a wide range of podiatric conditions.
  • Discharge patients who have completed treatment or no longer meet the service access criteria.
  • Develop clinical skills across specialist areas such as nail surgery, musculoskeletal podiatry, wound care, patient education and clinical audit.
  • Work flexibly across multiple sites and collaborate effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

  • Degree or Diploma in Podiatry.
  • Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Local Anaesthetic (LA) Certificate.
  • Sound understanding of clinical governance, risk management and evidence‑based practice; commitment to maintaining up‑to‑date knowledge of national guidelines and current best practice.

Working Pattern

Monday to Friday, flexible working considered; details confirmed at interview.
