Contentious Probate Solicitor (3-5 years PQE)

The Opportunity

Our Will Disputes & Contentious Probate team handles a wide range of contentious probate matters, working closely with our Wills, Trusts and Estates team.

Responsibilities

• Run your own cases and manage the full range of contentious probate matters, including Inheritance Act claims for claimants and defendants.
• Handle claims involving challenges to the validity of wills.
• Deal with executor/administrator disputes, including removal of executor applications.
• Address estate administration disputes.
• Manage Court of Protection disputes and various types of trust disputes.
• Work with colleagues on large cases, benefitting from supervision and support from the Head of the Will Disputes & Contentious Probate team.
• Collaborate with other colleagues within both contentious and non‑contentious teams.

Qualifications

• 3‑5 years of civil litigation experience, including contentious probate work.
• Experience of contentious probate and non‑contentious private client work during training contract or early career preferred.
• Strong knowledge of the Inheritance Act, will challenges, executor disputes, estate administration, Court of Protection and trust disputes.
