About the Role
Exmouth Minor Injuries Unit (MIU) offers minor injury and illness urgent care. The post-holder will be a fully qualified Practitioner in Minor Injuries or Emergency Care, working autonomously at Exmouth MIU as their base, with occasional shifts at our other urgent care facilities locally.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will work as an autonomous, independent Practitioner. They will provide a holistic approach to individuals including assessment, diagnosis, treatment and safe discharge, and referral to other agencies if necessary, of minor illness and injuries. The post-holder is responsible for their own workload within the designated clinical area; for the assessment and treatment of patients on a day‑to‑day basis; and to deputise for and support the clinical manager in their absence.
Working Pattern
Shifts are typically 08:00-20:00 with a 1‑hour unpaid break. No nights, weekends or bank holidays are rostered; the unit is open 8am‑8pm, seven days a week, throughout the year, seeing over 10,000 patients a year.
