Job Description:

We are recruiting a **Service Centre Team Leader** for a client’s site in Elstree.

Salary: £40000–45000 per annum (based on experience).

Working days: Monday‑Friday.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day‑to‑day operation of the service centre, ensuring efficient delivery of services and making operational decisions when appropriate.
  • Manage and prioritise service workloads, including inspection, repair and refurbishment activities, to meet customer and business requirements.
  • Coordinate the refurbishment programme, ensuring quality standards are met, repair costs are controlled and products are prepared for resale where applicable.
  • Work closely with technical support teams to investigate and resolve product or equipment issues.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to maintain appropriate stock levels and ensure availability of parts and equipment.
  • Review, approve and issue customer quotations, respond to queries and provide excellent customer service.
  • Approve sales and service orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company procedures.
  • Monitor departmental performance, produce regular reports and share performance updates with the wider team.
  • Provide leadership support and deputise for senior technical colleagues when required.
  • Contribute to departmental budget planning, forecasting and achievement of financial targets.
  • Support the auditing and performance management of external service partners where required.
  • Coordinate demonstration equipment requests with operational teams.
  • Respond to customer enquiries via telephone and email, providing timely and professional support.
  • Assist with the delivery and organisation of technical training programmes for internal teams and external partners.
  • Support warranty claim approvals in line with company policies and procedures.
  • Lead, coach and develop a team of service technicians, fostering a positive and high‑performing working environment.
  • Set individual and team objectives, monitor key performance indicators and support continuous improvement.
  • Conduct performance reviews, regular one‑to‑one meetings and annual appraisals.
  • Manage employee attendance, holidays, overtime and other workforce planning activities.
  • Review and update departmental processes and procedures to support operational excellence.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties appropriate to the role as required by management.

Essential Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a similar supervisory position.
  • Background in service maintenance.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Capability to perform physical duties such as moving machines and boxes.
  • Residing within a commutable distance of Elstree/Borehamwood.
