Job Overview

ICTS is pleased to offer a permanent, high-profile role of Security Console Operator, at a prestigious client site in central Edinburgh, where you will be responsible for ensuring the security and safety of premises and people.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively monitor CCTV for the prevention of crime and to ensure the Health and Safety of staff and visitors.
  • Work alongside the Duty Supervisor in leading an operational shift of Security Officers around the site.
  • Deal with fire system isolations and reactivations, as directed.
  • Efficiently respond to alarms, incidents, and evacuations and coordinate a response.
  • Accurately maintain all Logs, Records, and Incident Reports/Statements; and ensure they are legible and can withstand scrutiny.
  • Report and investigate any acts or omissions that may compromise Health & Safety immediately to the Supervisor/Site Manager.
  • Report missing, damaged or unserviceable safety equipment.
  • Record items of lost or found property.
  • Perform administrative duties as directed by line management, including roster management and reports.
  • Review and implement security and safety policies and standards at the premises.
  • Work closely with other Officers/management to ensure the most effective and efficient provision of security and safety services.
  • Work with management in reviewing threat assessments and ensure continual development of the risk mitigation/management processes.

  • Front of House duties.

Shift Details

Shifts are normally 12 hours’ duration starting at 0700/1900hrs, covering days and nights, Monday – Sunday on a ‘4 on / 4 off’ pattern. Typically, this will be 4 Days, 4 Rest, 4 Nights, 4 Rest. There will be some opportunities to acquire overtime shifts on Rest Days. A uniform 3-piece suit, footwear, outdoor clothing, and appropriate Health & Safety equipment are provided. The Console Operator will be expected to deputise for the Supervisor at various times during a shift and through annual leave and other absences. The role requires flexibility and reliability to support colleagues.

Qualifications

  • Hold valid SIA Door Supervisor and CCTV licences, with a minimum of ‘Emergency First Aid at Work’ qualification. Be willing to be trained up to ‘First Aid at Work’ level.
  • Demonstrate previous experience in a supervisory role preferable in a Control Room environment.
  • Hold excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrate the ability to think and act quickly in emergencies or under pressure.
  • Have a willingness to work co-operatively and constructively with both your peer group and the leadership provided by department supervisors and management.
  • Have an ability to deliver succinct and clear verbal reports, with good radio skills.
  • Five years’ checkable history and references.
  • To pass a Criminal Record and Disclosure Check, to the required vetting standard.
