Class 2 HGV Driver – Aircraft Loaders (Fixed Term Until 31st October)

Job Overview

Regular roster of 4 on 4 off shift, availability for 06:00‑17:30, overtime rate 1.5×, free onsite parking, complimentary meals and refreshments, free uniform, free life insurance, company sick pay, pension scheme. Start dates ASAP, subject to referencing.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Driving HGV 15‑18 tonne company liveried vehicles in a secure & controlled environment
  • Carrying out vehicle checks prior to use
  • Loading and unloading catering uplifts to aircraft
  • Liaison with flight crew and working in collaboration with other ground handling suppliers
  • Maintaining the cleanliness and tidiness of the vehicle
  • Adhering to all Road Traffic Acts and additional Airport By‑laws
  • Additional duties such as bar and stores packing or search and sealing will be a daily requirement along with any associated paperwork
  • Plus any additional warehouse duties

Requirements

  • Valid clean HGV CAT C Driving Licence (up to 3 points will be considered)
  • Digital tachograph knowledge and possession of a digital tachograph card
  • Driver CPC qualification essential
  • Previous HGV experience desirable; airport airside driving would be an advantage
  • Knowledge of the Road Traffic Act
  • Previous experience in a catering or hospitality role is desirable but not essential
  • Must be able to work shifts and be keen to learn
  • In addition to job-related training, you will develop your skills in teamwork, time management, multi-tasking, communication and attention to detail
  • All applicants must have the right to work in the UK, undertake a CRC (Criminal Record Check) and provide 5 years of checkable referencing history
  • For any time spent outside the UK exceeding 6 months, you must be able to provide a CRC for that country
