Location: Pool
Job Description:

Fixed Term full‑time (37.5 hrs per week) – ends 15 July 2028.

Location: Redruth, Cornwall.

Summary

If you enjoy being the person who keeps things organised, accurate and moving forward, and you want to help create a welcoming, efficient and well‑run place, we’d love to hear from you.

We’re looking for a highly organised, team‑focused Business Services Coordinator to help keep Heartlands and East Pool Mine running smoothly. You’ll be an important part of the team, helping us provide a great service for colleagues, visitors, partners, communities and contractors.

Working pattern: 7.5 hours a day, 5 days a week – flexible weekend and bank holiday working may be required as the operation moves towards a 7‑day offer.

What it’s like to work here

This role is based in Pool, Cornwall, working across two sites: Heartlands and East Pool Mine.

The National Trust and our partner, Cornwall Rural Community Charity, are in negotiations to secure the lease for Heartlands with Cornwall Council. Together, we want to work with the local community to transform Heartlands into a vibrant place for opportunity, inclusion and experiences.

Heartlands is an eight‑hectare site at the heart of Cornwall’s mining heritage, bringing together historic buildings, green spaces and community facilities. Nearby, East Pool Mine cares for nationally important mining heritage within a World Heritage landscape.

You’ll be joining a supportive and collaborative team where people and places are at the heart of everything we do. It’s a busy and evolving place to work, where teamwork, initiative, accuracy and good communication really matter.

What you’ll be doing

No two days will be quite the same. You’ll be trusted to use your initiative and encouraged to improve how things are done.

You’ll help with the day‑to‑day running of the sites by providing business administration, customer service, systems coordination, finance support and operational planning.

A key part of the role will be coordinating bookings and enquiries for events, meetings, room hire and conference‑style activity. As one of the first people visitors, colleagues and customers may meet, you’ll play an important part in creating a helpful and welcoming first impression. People will also rely on your knowledge and organisation to help them find information, solve problems and get things done.

Your work will include:

  • Maintaining simple, efficient systems and processes for bookings, records, operational information and reporting.
  • Supporting finance processes such as purchase orders, payments, invoice information, cash handling, budget monitoring or reporting where needed.
  • Handling enquiries professionally, providing excellent customer service and treating confidential information with care.
  • Looking for ways to make processes clearer, reduce duplication and improve how work is planned and delivered.

Who we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone who is organised, accurate, detail‑focused and confident working with people, systems and information. You’ll need to be comfortable balancing different priorities and working flexibly. This role would suit someone who enjoys keeping things organised behind the scenes, takes pride in getting the details right and follows tasks through from start to finish.

You’ll have:

  • Experience in business services, administration, customer service, bookings, events, a conference centre, visitor operations or a similar coordination role.
  • Strong attention to detail, especially when managing data, records, bookings, financial information or customer requirements.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise, multi‑task and complete work efficiently.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and digital business systems.
  • Confidence working with numbers, financial information, reporting or payments.
  • A flexible, team‑focused and customer‑focused approach.
  • A positive, practical approach to solving problems and improving how things are done.
