Graduate / Project Water Resources Engineer or Analyst – July 2026
Location: Carlow
IE Consulting Engineers is a specialist consultancy providing services in Flood Risk Assessment, Hydrology, Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS), Hydrogeology and Civil Engineering.
We are looking for a Graduate or Project Water Resources Engineer or Analyst to join our growing team. This role is ideally suited to a recent engineering or science graduate with up to 4 years' experience who is looking to develop a career primarily in Flood Risk Assessment, with opportunities to gain experience in drainage design and sustainable water management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare Flood Risk Assessments and supporting technical reports.
- Undertake hydrological assessments and hydraulic modelling.
- Carry out flood mapping and GIS analysis.
- Assist with surface water drainage and SuDS design.
- Work closely with clients, stakeholders and multidisciplinary project teams.
About You
- A Level 8 Honours Degree (or higher) in Civil or Environmental Engineering, Earth & Ocean
- Sciences, Geospatial Engineering, GIS/Geomatics, Geography, or another relevant discipline
- with a strong emphasis on hydrology, water resources or spatial analysis.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills.
- A proactive approach and the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Experience with HEC-RAS, Flood Modeller Pro, QGIS/ArcGIS, InfoDrainage, MicroDrainage or AutoCAD would be an advantage but is not essential.
