Welcome to Happy Days Nursery in Exeter. We are a growing childcare provider offering a clear pathway for career progression and recognised qualifications. Located near the M5, our facility provides ample parking and easy access for families.

What You’ll Do

As a Nursery Apprentice you will support children’s development, ensuring their welfare and safety. You will assist in planning, delivering, and reviewing play-based activities that meet the early years foundation stage. You will also work closely with parents, colleagues, and external agencies to meet each child’s individual needs and support transitions such as moving to school.

Responsibilities

  • Promote the welfare and safety of children and report safeguarding concerns to the person in charge.
  • Support the planning and delivery of purposeful play activities in line with the early years foundation stage.
  • Collaborate with parents, colleagues, and other agencies to meet children’s individual needs.
  • Support children in understanding healthy life choices through engaging play activities.
  • Maintain respectful care routines including feeding, nappy changing, and dental care.
  • Assist children experiencing transitions such as moving to school or the birth of a sibling.
  • Participate actively in the apprenticeship programme, meeting deadlines set by the trainer and mentor.
  • Support children’s numeracy, literacy and language development through a range of play activities.
  • Sought continuous professional development opportunities throughout the apprenticeship.

Course Information & Work Arrangements

Course: Early Years Educator (level 3) – Advanced apprenticeship. Working week: Monday to Friday, 40‑hour week with shifts to be agreed. Expected duration: 1 year 6 months. Training provider: REALISE LEARNING AND EMPLOYMENT LIMITED.
