Apply for the Full Stack Engineer
Location: Warminster
Job Description:

Java | Spring Boot | Angular | TypeScript | Defence Technology

Warminster, Wiltshire – Hybrid

UK Security Clearance required or must be eligible

I’m partnering with a global software and technology organisation that develops mission‑critical platforms for defence, government and complex operational environments.

They are hiring a Senior Full Stack Engineer to join a highly capable engineering team supporting a major, long‑term UK defence programme.

This is a hands‑on engineering role offering genuine ownership across backend services, user‑facing applications, APIs and system integrations. You will work closely with experienced engineers, technical leaders, customers and external partners to build secure, reliable software with real‑world impact.

The role

  • Design and develop full-stack applications using Java, Spring Boot, Angular and TypeScript
  • Build secure, scalable backend services and REST APIs
  • Integrate the platform with external systems, data services and partner applications
  • Work with relational databases including PostgreSQL and SQL
  • Contribute to architectural decisions and technical design
  • Write clean, well‑tested and maintainable code
  • Support CI/CD, automated testing and modern deployment practices
  • Troubleshoot complex production and integration issues
  • Mentor engineers and contribute to high engineering standards
  • Work directly with technical and non‑technical stakeholders

What we’re looking for

You will ideally have strong commercial experience with:

  • Java and Spring Boot
  • Angular and TypeScript
  • SQL and relational databases, ideally PostgreSQL
  • REST APIs, microservices and system integrations
  • Automated unit, integration and end‑to‑end testing
  • CI/CD and modern software delivery practices
  • Docker, Kubernetes or containerised environments
  • Cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP
  • Taking ownership of complex technical problems

Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, event‑driven architecture, ERP integrations, data platforms or legacy modernisation would be highly valuable.

Previous work within defence, government, national security, critical infrastructure or another highly regulated environment would be advantageous but is not essential.

The opportunity

This role offers:

  • Salary of up to £120,000
  • A long‑term and technically challenging programme
  • Genuine influence over engineering and architecture
  • Work that has meaningful operational impact
  • Collaboration with experienced UK and international engineering teams
  • The opportunity to remain hands‑on while mentoring and influencing others
  • Hybrid working around Warminster and customer sites

Due to the nature of the programme, applicants must be UK nationals and eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance. Active or lapsed SC clearance would be a significant advantage.
