Vickerstock are working in partnership with a manufacturing firm on the appointment of a Health, Safety & Environmental Manager.
As the HSE Manager, you will lead and promote a strong culture of Safety, Health & Environmental ownership across the business’ Northern Ireland operations, working closely with management and teams to ensure compliance, employee wellbeing and continuous improvement.

In your new role:
- Lead the development and continuous improvement of the company’s Health, Safety & Environmental management systems, fostering accountability and a positive safety culture
- Ensure compliance with all applicable HSE legislation, regulations and industry standards across Northern Ireland operations
- Coach and support operational teams in embedding HSE responsibilities and maintaining management systems aligned with ISO standards
- Act as the subject matter expert and key contact for all Health, Safety & Environmental matters
- Develop and implement HSE objectives and improvement plans to enhance performance, reduce incidents and strengthen operational discipline
- Lead risk assessments, hazard identification and control programmes to minimise operational and environmental risk
- Oversee incident, near miss and environmental event investigations, ensuring effective corrective actions are implemented
- Develop and deliver HSE training, coaching and engagement programmes to enhance awareness and compliance across all levels
- Support environmental compliance, sustainability initiatives, waste reduction and pollution prevention activities across the business
- Collaborate with HSE teams across the wider Group to share best practice, monitor performance and drive continuous improvement
What you will need to succeed:
- At least 3 years’ experience in a Health, Safety & Environmental leadership role within an operational or manufacturing environment
- Relevant Health & Safety qualification (NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent)
- Thorough knowledge of UK and Northern Ireland Health, Safety & Environmental legislation
- Strong communication, analytical and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels
- Experience implementing and maintaining Health, Safety & Environmental management systems, ideally within ISO-accredited environments
- Demonstrable experience of risk assessment, incident investigation and driving continuous improvement initiatives
Desirable (it would be great if you have this, but don’t worry if you don’t):
- NEBOSH Diploma
- Membership of IOSH, IEMA or an equivalent professional body
- Experience working within ISO 45001 and/or ISO 14001 accredited environments
- Internal or Lead Auditor qualification
- Experience within manufacturing or other operational, shift-based environments
- Experience supporting environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives
