Overview

Support worker for a child in LS19. 9 hours per week (15 hours in the holidays) in Leeds – LS19. The role involves providing care and companionship to a 9-year-old girl with Rett Syndrome who requires 24-hour care.

Responsibilities

• Read to the child, communicate with her, and help her access social and leisure activities.
• Accompany her for walks in her wheelchair and engage in activities such as colouring with her.
• Provide support as a friend and personal assistant, understanding her needs and when she requires assistance.

Hours

Flexible hours after school and on weekends.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Caring, empathetic, and patient with a good sense of fun.
• Ability to read to the child and support her daily needs.
• Training will be offered; DBS and right-to-work checks will be completed prior to starting.
• Two references will be taken up.
