Legal Counsel – London/Hybrid (Circa 0-2 yrs PQE)

Overview

As a Legal Counsel specialising in corporate matters, you’ll handle key legal tasks to keep the business running smoothly. Based in London, you’ll focus on providing practical advice and support to the business services sector.

Responsibilities

• Intellectual Property – managing the Organisation’s intellectual property portfolio, including trademark watch notices, renewals, recording know how and digital IP assets
• Employment – advising on complex people related and global mobility queries, including complex restrictive covenant matters (relating to both outgoing and incoming senior employees) in collaboration with the People team
• Digital – advising on the commercialisation and licensing arrangements for digital solutions created for clients, including AI governance
• Corporate Governance and Company Secretarial – advising on governance matters arising from the Organisation’s complex group structure and investment arrangements globally; handling board minutes, resolutions, and statutory filings
• Data Protection – acting as an escalation point for complex data protection matters arising from client projects or central data usage, including intra-group data sharing arrangements
• Share Scheme – administering the legal aspects of the employee equity scheme including issues of shares and buy backs
• Disputes and Litigation – coordinating with external counsel as required to protect the Organisation’s legal position in employment or commercial disputes

Profile

The successful applicant will be a lawyer, qualified in the UK or an equivalent Common Law jurisdiction.

They will likely have between 0 and 2 years of PQE.

They will have training from a Chambers Ranked law firm and experience in one or more of the following areas:

• Intellectual property
• Corporate
• IP
• Employment
• Data and IT

This is an excellent opportunity for a junior lawyer to move in-house and to develop into a generalist.
